It's Tuesday, which means I had Sparks tonight. This time of year, I leave for our meeting in daylight and come home in the dark (even if I don't spend a half an hour chatting with one of my fellow leaders after the meeting, which I almost always do).
As I left, I noticed a stray Halloween decoration I'd miss when I brought them in on Sunday. Naturally, I forgot all about it by the time I got home and had to run outside with a flashlight when I remembered.
Luckily, I haven't finished putting away the decorations yet - the ones that were drying yesterday are still out.
The me who decorates next year is going to hate current me, because the stuff that is away is not away very neatly. It will be a hassle to deal with - and yet I don't care enough to fix it.
This is similar to how I will leave a bag of milk in the fridge with just a swallow of milk left in it - even though I know that I'm the one who will have to change the bag eventually.

I loved this post, it was so charming. And also, SO TRUE.
ReplyDeleteThanks. :) You would think by this point that I'd learn that I'm the one who pays the price for my laziness, but that hasn't really happened.
