No swimming here

It's very useful to have a job where you can work from home. I took advantage of that today because I had two appointments for people to come and give me suggestions for how to keep my basement from turning into a swimming pool every time it rains.

I liked the first one more - he did a better job of explaining what the possible problems were and how to fix them. I have a bit more investigating to do, but I plan to make a decision this week.

  1. I also love that about my job. I felt like crap today so I was able to go home, lay down for a couple hours, get up then finish my day!

  2. The whole basement thing can become a neverending story. In our old house/apartment our landlords were continually fighting the good fight against flooding and, eventually, mold. They eventually dug up around the foundation and reinforced with this rubber stuff and that seemed to work the best.
