Running out of titles

I really don't know what to talk about today. This is the problem with trying to update every day without really having a purpose.

I again went in to work today, but I'm still coughing. Yesterday after work I stopped at the drug store to get some cough drops. While I was there, I also picked up some tic tacs. I was very glad to have them today as they did a good job of keeping me from coughing.

Tomorrow will be a debate. I haven't been to the gym this week - but tomorrow is boxing. If I'll still coughing, I probably shouldn't go - but it's above a pool and really humid, so maybe I'd be OK. I'm not sure. I guess I'll have to figure it out tomorrow.

What do you guys think? Do you exercise when you're sick, or are you like me and sit around feeling sorry for yourself?


  1. I very rarely get sick with cold/flu type things that would cause coughing and such. When I do, I become a complete baby who is incapable of anything. My main sources of illness are migraine [in which case absolutely no exercise for multiple days - it makes things much worse, even if the migraine has gone away] and stomach problems. I exercise more lightly when my stomach is acting up, but I do find some movement is helpful.

  2. I tend to stay away from gyms when I am obviously sick. My reasoning - if I am working out at the gym and the person beside me is coughing a lot and blowing their nose then I find it distracting and I am desperately hoping that I do not catch what they have.

  3. I have not been feeling well lately, but I still work out. It tends to clear up any congestion and makes me feel better, and I sleep easier.
    To get rid of congestion: rub Vicks Vaporub in the bottoms of your feet, put on socks and go to bed. It will clear up your congestion without the overpowering smell.

  4. In the past, I've found that if I'm just feeling off, exercise helps. I usually take it pretty easy when I'm sick. Part of it is not wanting to spread the germs around, part of it is that I'm sick and I just don't feel like it.

    This time I'm impatient - because it has been 6 solid days of being sick, and because I've had so many colds in the last 8 months.

    However, I started coughing in the shower today, which tells me I am not yet well enough to go to boxing. :(
