Just don't tell Joel

Today's new thing has been in the works for a couple of weeks.

I've mentioned before that I was laid off in 2007. At the time, I got a good severance package as well as outplacement help.

Since the company I worked for has since filed for bankruptcy protection, I know quite a few people who have been laid off with no severance and no outplacement help. I also know people who are looking for a new job, although they are still employed.

In the interests of helping some of them get started, I hosted a meeting to share some of what I learned.

Four of my former colleagues showed up, and they seemed to find it useful. Hopefully it will help.
