This is one of the new things that was always on my to-do list, yet never quite happened.
A few years ago (6? 8? no idea), light rail came to Ottawa. Now, since it was in Ottawa, it was done as a pilot project to see if it made sense.
To put this in perspective, the transit way (which is exclusively for buses) runs from east to west. The major highway through town runs east-west.
Light rail, on the other hand, runs north-south.
As a result, it goes from a shopping centre in the south of the city to a station kind of (but not really) downtown.
As a result, I've never taken it, so today I rode the O-train from start to finish and back again.
