Last week, I somehow ended up at the Bakerella website. I don't remember how, exactly, but I loved the burger and fries made out of cupcakes, sugar cookies, and brownies. When I made plans to get together with friends on the weekend, I knew I had to try them.
They turned out better than I expected. They are very sweet, so if I make them again, I'll just put the "lettuce" icing on the burger, and skip the ketchup and mustard.
That's a fun website and I love this! What are the "fries" made from? It seems like a lot of effort - three different baking projects - but it looks so cute! Did you ever watch The Surreal Gourmet? He did a lot of stuff like this.
ReplyDeleteI used mixes for the cupcakes & brownies, so it wasn't a huge deal. The fries are sugar cookies - I made those from scratch a couple of days in advance & stuck them in the freezer.

ReplyDeleteIt's funny, because I put the three types of icing on the 1/2 cupcakes, and I was thinking "this doesn't look right". Then I cut out the brownies, and it still didn't look right. Then I assembled them, and they turned into hamburgers! It was pretty amazing.
