Today I shovelled off part of the street. My street is normally quite wide, but with the recent snow, it's down to one lane, and there are big ruts from traffic. I went out and spent a few minutes shovelling snow from between the ruts. It was totally selfish - I'm hoping this will minimize the scraping sounds from below my car as I drive down the street.
I also created an area for things that need to be given away.
